What do you mean "No Resume Required"?

When we say “Resume Not Required” we do not mean that you should hide your background and accomplishments. Your background and accomplishments shaped you into who you are, but they are not ALL that you are. Therefore, a resume should not be the sole basis for employment.

Why not use a resume? 

Resumes have become ineffective in today’s job market because:

• On average, only 2 out of every 100 resumes sent are acknowledged. That leaves you with a failure rate of 98%. 
• Resumes under or over-qualify you for a position
• Resumes are very subjective. What the job seeker thinks is good experience, the employer may think is bad or irrelevant experience

I know a lot of people. Won’t networking help me find my next job?

Networking can undoubtedly help you find a job but it probably won’t be the right one.
Here are the pitfalls of networking:

• The person you are talking to is probably not a "job expert." He/She does not know any more than you do about getting a job, yet you take their advice anyway. 
• If the person you turn to for help does not have opportunities in mind, they refer you on to someone else, which is essentially a "polite no."
• You do not "have to know someone" to get the job you want, you just need to know yourself

Why not use Internet job boards?

Internet job boards were intended to make the job seeker’s job easier, but they have actually made the job search a lot harder.
Here’s why:

• Job boards are inundated with resumes creating huge competition for just one position.
• Today, there are 50 million resumes online and up to 1,000 resumes received per posted position. You have a better chance of winning the lottery than of getting your resume noticed.
• Less than 5% of companies are able to view your resume online because they have to pay to subscribe to the companies that hold them. So, your resume most likely will not be seen by the right person
• A lot of the job postings are not legitimate. Some are scams that were set up to collect personal information to sell to third parties.

Why work with an agent in your job search?

While commonplace for athletes and movie stars, the concept of representation by an agent is foreign to most companies and job seekers, but why? The model works exceptionally well in sports and entertainment. Agents have become an integral part of the business in these respective industries, responsible for identifying and pursuing new opportunities, negotiating salaries and procuring endorsement deals. According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, only 10% of all job seekers find employment through head hunters and/or recruiters.
