| To Quit or Not to Quit? |
|
Considering quitting your job? You’re not alone. A recent online survey showed that more than half of all workers are considering quitting this year. Believe it or not, every year 40 million people change jobs. It’s crazy to think that people are considering quitting their jobs in this stifling economy, but is it? Well, it depends on WHY someone wants to quit. If their reasons are justified, then they’re NOT crazy for wanting to quit their jobs. Happiness in the workplace is extremely important. We invest more time at work than we do at anything else. And sadly, if we are unhappy in the workplace, it often carries over to the "anything else:" how we treat our kids and spouses when we get home, how well we sleep at night, how we take care of both our physical and mental well-beings, and much more. Because our jobs play such a pivotal role in our lives, why is it that we don’t put more effort into truly finding the “right fit”? A job that fulfills all of our needs and desires. In this day and age, we are so focused on getting “any ol’ job,” that we don’t care whether it’s the RIGHT one. We blast hundreds of resumes hoping to get a response, and the first response we get, we usually take. Obviously, this has proven to be a failure since 53% of people hate their jobs and are considering quitting. Its valid proof that we should seriously reconsider our job seeking and hiring practices.
